What does the article say/ Summary?
In Japan, internet has been a communication tool between people who are looking for another person to die with. There are many people who are trying to suicide with any partner ment on any websites like 'Suicide Club' because they are afraid of death. The suicide rate in Japan is quite high and there are many sources, such as death ads or vicious websites, that encourages depressed people to suicide. Because there are growing number of "internet suicide" communities which relieves people's worry about going through everything all their own, stressed and depressed people tend to think irrationally and chose to die.
What does the article mean/ (Big meaning)?
Many people, today, are stressed about their lives. There could be many different reasons for suicide but as the society became more complex and developed, people tend to think suicide as one of their choices to solve the problems in their lives. Suicide might be seen as a quick and easy solution because nothing would bother us once we are dead, but killing oneself does not become a key to anything. It is just a way of avoiding problems. However, many celebrities, students, and businessmen choose to die so easily that even elementary students are thinking of killing themselves after a fight with their parents. So education of suicide is definitely needed to prevent people to think that the suicide isn't the best choice.
Why do I care / Personal Meaning
There are also many situations involving suicide in Korea. Since the education in Korea is very strict and difficult and people are too competitive, many students get stressed about not getting a good grade in their school because it is very hard to get in a good university. About two years ago, I heard that my friend's classmate killed herself probably because of her grade. Few weeks ago, there was a genius boy in my sister's university who was found dead in school dormitory. Because the university is known as the best school in Korea, people, including his parents, are predicting that he died because of the tough school work. I somewhat understand why they have decided to commit a suicide because I am also a student, but these situations sometimes make me really ask my self, 'is it really the best decision out of all the possible choices?'. Because these bad news may really make me think about committing a suicide when I am in the worst mood in the future, I should be more knowledgeable about this topic to prevent myself and my friends even thinking about attempting suicide.
